  • Payment information (the platform is free)
  • Location data beyond what you choose to share in your posts
  • Device fingerprints or advertising identifiers

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to operate the platform — displaying your posts, personalising your profile, and enabling interactions with other users. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Cookies

We use a single httpOnly cookie (mc_token) to keep you logged in for up to 30 days. Third-party services we use (Google Analytics, Google AdSense if enabled) may set their own cookies. You can clear cookies at any time via your browser settings.

Google AdSense & advertising

If advertising is shown on mycountry.io, it is served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to our site and other sites on the internet. Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Third-party vendors may also set cookies; opt-outs are available at aboutads.info.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how visitors arrive at the site. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify individual users. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Children's privacy

mycountry.io is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

If you live in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to opt out of personalised advertising. To exercise these rights, email hello@mycountry.io with the request and the email associated with your account.

You can delete your posts at any time. To request full account deletion, email hello@mycountry.io.

Data storage

Data is stored on secure servers via Railway (railway.app). Backups are maintained to prevent data loss.
